MNDA Fundraising
So, as you all know, every month we do our bit to make the world a better place by giving to a charity of our choice.
For September, that charity was the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) (http://www.mndassociation.org/) who do some amazing work around the awfully debilitating Motor Neurone Disease. It’s the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND, and below are their mission, vision, and values:
Our Vision
- A world free from MND
Our Mission
- We improve care and support for people with MND, their families and carers.
- We fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings us closer to a cure for MND.
- We campaign and raise awareness so the needs of people with MND and everyone who cares for them are recognised and addressed by wider society.
Our Values
- People with MND, their families and carers are at the heart of everything we do.
- We collaborate, and value everyone’s contribution.
- We achieve excellence through personal commitment and ongoing improvement.
- We respect and respond to people’s diverse needs, backgrounds and views.
- We achieve our aims through building open and transparent relationships.
In total, we raised £113.71, and the reason we did this was because our contact at Creative Studios who we use for all our print requirements, was doing the Thames Path Challenge which is a 100km walk to also raise money for the MNDA, as one of his close relatives has recently been diagnosed with the illness. You can read his story here - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rob-towler.
So with that, it’s off into a new month and another charity for us to help make their job a bit easier – this time it’s the Red Cross Indonesia Tsunami Appeal.
