RRT – Operation Drought Relief Donation
As you know, at Tower Supplies we like to give back. Whilst it’s our mission to make the workplace a better place, we also do what we can to make the lives of others better in any way we can.
So, when we saw what the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) in Australia were doing in New South Wales (NSW) and Southern Queensland to support farmers during the intense period of drought they have been experiencing recently, we knew we had to get involved somehow.
It’s been named Operation Drought Relief, and some operation it has been. RRT have used the donations to provide the following:
HAY DELIVERED FOR LIVESTOCK & FOOD VOUCHERS FOR FARMING FAMILIES
Camden NSW - 498 bales of hay, 64 recipients, FREE Community RRT BBQ lunch on the 11th & 25th August 2018
Condobolin NSW - 2576 bales of hay, 347 recipients, $67,600 worth of food coupons to 52 recipients, FREE Community RRT BBQ lunch on Friday 17th & Saturday 18th of August 2018 at Condobolin’s Common.
Gunnedah NSW - 1690 bales of hay, 230 recipients, $54,400 worth of food coupons to 73 recipients, FREE Community RRT BBQ lunch on Friday 7th September 2018 at Fairfax’s Ag-Quip site.
Goulburn NSW - 706 bales of hay, 90 recipients, FREE Community RRT BBQ lunch on Friday 14th September 2018.
Gippsland VIC - 469 bales of hay, 31 recipients, FREE Community RRT BBQ lunch on Thursday 27th September 2018
Upcoming Commitments:
- Top-up loads to Gunnedah and Goulburn (a further 800 bales from Tasmania).
- 3,000 bales to Charleville QLD (1st week of November) and 3,000 bales to Cunnamulla QLD (Date to be confirmed)
It’s been a huge outlay by RRT, so our donation of £2000.00 feels a bit insignificant, but we know every little helps. To find out more about what the RRT are up to in the UK visit their website - https://uk.rapidreliefteam.org/ and for some interesting videos and pictures of Operation Drought
